Dan Calvo Chairman

Dan was CEO of Cellomics, the leader of the HCS technology and product market, before his recent appointment as President and CEO at Oncimmune Inc. He was also associated with PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences, a leading global provider of instruments, reagents, software and services for the life sciences, drug discovery and diagnostics markets, as VP, Worldwide Sales and Service. In that role, Dan led the integration and expansion of PerkinElmer's life science business, growing from $200 million to $500 million. Dan was Senior VP, Global Sales and Marketing for NEN Life Sciences, where he drove a significant turnaround of the company prior to the acquisition by PerkinElmer. He spent more than 15 years at DuPont in various sales, marketing and operational assignments in their Medical Products business. Dan received an AB degree in Biochemistry from Princeton University, an MHS in Environmental Health Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Bellarmine College.

Abhi Gholap Founder President & CEO

Abhijeet, a seasoned technopreneur, has over 18 years of experience in software products and services industry. Prior to founding OPTRA Systems, he was the founder of BioImagene, a digital pathology company in California developing cancer detection system using image based artificial intelligence. Millions of patients are being screened using this product worldwide and his invention was recognized by National Cancer Institute at Washington DC. In 2004, Scimagix Inc and in 2006, Tissue Informatics Inc were acquired and merged into BioImagene, before BioImagene was acquired by Roche Diagnostics. Abhijeet has several publications and 11 international patents to his credit.

Abhijeet earlier worked for TCS, Cedartech, Siemens Medical Systems. He earned his M.Tech. From Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT), Mumbai, India in 1994. Abhi strongly believes in Innovations and nurtures entrepreneurial spirit in the society. He is presently Chair of "New Emerging Technology" committee of Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture, Pune.

Dr. Gauri Gholap Chief Scientific Officer

Gauri is a Biotechnologist with extensive commercial research and entrepreneurial background. Before founding Optra Systems, She was the founder director of BioImagene Inc., a silicon valley based Digital pathology company. Gauri is responsible for enriching the domain knowledge of the company as well as involved in strategic planning & business development activities. Gauri has over a decade of experience working in genetics, cytology, microbiology, molecular biology, medical imaging & bioinformatics field. Gauri was selected as young scientist for research programmes in Biotechnology and Microbiology. She has 8 US patents pending along with PCT applications with First Patent published. She also has Published many research papers in International Journals & has participated as speaker in many international conferences. Prior to co-founding BioImagene & Optra Systems, Gauri was working for a BioInformatics company offering genomic and proteomic related services, molecular modeling, clinical trials/CRM, database management services, high-throughput data analysis and tool-based pharmacogenomics solutions.

Prasanna Gogate EVP (Global Delivery)

Prasanna has over 15 years of experience in the software industry. He has worked with various IT consulting companies and has experience managing both projects and product development. He is responsible for projects & people management, process implementation and deliveries at Optra systems. Prasanna holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in computers from the University of Pune.

Dr. Lalitha Subramanian VP (Business Development)

Lalitha has 18 years of experience providing software products and services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, chemical and consumer packaged goods industry, microelectronics and energy industry, automotive and aerospace industry. Prior to joining Optra systems, she was a Senior Director and Science Fellow at Accelrys Inc, an enterprise scientific software and services company. She built the business of scientific consulting from the ground up and lead a team of Ph. D scientists, developers and engineers to provide software and services in the areas of pharmaceutical discovery, development, and delivery, conventional and alternate energy, catalysis process optimization and advanced materials design.

Lalitha is a visionary of scientific software and information based solution and has worked on numerous innovative projects for Fortune 500 companies and maintains a broad range of partnerships in industry. Following her Ph. D. in chemistry from IIT Madras, she worked as a post-doc for Prof. Roald Hoffman, Nobel Laureate at Cornell University. She continues to present invited lectures and has numerous scientific publications.

Shashin Nagarcenkar Director (Projects)

Shashin, an entrepreneur himself, brings in over 17 yrs of experience working in different business domains. He has extensive experience in working with startups and helping them grow. At Optra, Shashin is currently responsible for managing the software teams and overseeing the delivery for all projects. Shashin has worked in the US for companies like Varian Medical Systems, Ingenuity Systems and Cisco Systems. In his earlier companies, he has managed software initiatives involving Radiation Oncology, Ontology & Digital Pathology. Shashin holds a bachelors degree from University of Mumbai.

Prasad Sathe Director (Finance and Administration)

Prasad is a qualified CPA, CS and CWA, with IT and Industrial exposure for over 20 years. His key areas have been Operational Review and Analysis (Project Profitability, Degree of Bench, etc.), Financial Management (Accounts / Audit / Taxation), Legal (STPI, FEMA, etc.), HR, ISO and Secretarial Compliance thus contributing to interests of all stakeholders. He has good Exposure to Software Field (ITeS) includes securing VC Funding, Fiscal Monitoring and Managing Operations of India Unit (Legal, HR, Infrastructure and Admin). He has initiated and successfully implemented Accounting of Subsidiary Co on a US-based GAAP (US and India) compliant Package, for Seamless Consolidation .
